I’ve decided that I really like my room. The bed was very comfortable. It looked very much as if it was one of those double beds with two singles pushed together, but it wasn’t. I think it looked that way because of the two single thin duvets that never looked as if one would be enough. It was a nice surprise to find that beds are done well in Finland. They are often a disappointment back home.
Breakfast was so much more than the continental basic I was expecting. Then again, this is Scandinavia, and they do a great breakfast here. Everyone seemed to go around their breakfast quietly. Things like this mean very much to me.
I find it very strange that I can travel 1100 miles, to the largest city of another country to find peace and quiet. And even this city decided that it needed the Chapel of Silence!
At this time of year, the days are short and I must go exploring. I must plan my next days. I only have three full days. I can’t just sit around in a warm hotel room and relax. I can’t go and see great places and possibly meet people. That would just make home feel even worse. I will want to move somewhere better, and get a new job!
Breathe in…………..and breathe out. Repeat.
It’s time to leave the room and remember why I came here. To relax.
