I’m still raving about the bar in Helsinki called “why join the navy, when you can become a pirate?” It’s just that there are so many places that are wrong. These could be housing estates, bars, cars, or anything you could buy, or visit. Life and design is a compromised, and evolution gives us the least best options – the ones that are just good enough. But we generally get what we are given, for a price we are willing to pay.

Right then………..roads are bad, cars aren’t as good as they should be, popular music is sub-standard, education could be better, air quality could be better………..

So, this isn’t just about places. The world could be better, and we should demand more.

This is a short one. Perhaps it’s the wine I’m drinking, or the Father Ted marathon I’m involved in watching. But do your best, and aim for the best. Let the rest settle for less.
