Time For a Change

06 Jan 2017

Now is the time for some clear thinking, a plan of action, and a desired result.

I’m thinking clearly. At least I think I am. It’s difficult to tell at the best of times. And even clear thinking doesn’t always result in rational decisions. I have no plan. And I have no desired result. This means I have the world at my feet!

Ideally, I’d like to travel the world, live without worries, meet people, eat great food, and never get bored of it. All of this with priority access to airports, and ships. There’s no mention of a job here. I don’t have travel anxiety, I have work anxiety. If only I could earn what I earn now, with an annual increase I would be very happy. So what I really need is some security. So, first step how can I make my future more secure. This is a start, but I need better requirements.

Here is another try: How do I avoid having to eat dog food when I retire? This is a long term goal.

Another: How can I fix it so I can cycle in the mountains in France and Italy? Short to medium

How can I learn another language?

How can I breathe the fresh air I want to breathe?

Should I buy my flat in full, or should I sell it and move?

How can I get a job that is more fulfilling, and pays the bills?

How can I relate to people better?

How can I be more reliable?

What can I do that will make me spring out of bed in the morning?

How can I press the reset button, and start again?

Should I wait around for redundancy?

Let’s treat this as a start. I know how to build requirements. I need financial advice, and I need career advice. Professional help is expensive and I need to meet these people with a clear idea before I start.

This is good. I’m planning for a future. I’m not a fan of goal setting – I may have mentioned that before. I’m re-framing. I’ve invented future setting.

Time to plan a future. This may take more than a couple of blogs!
