Meeting Danny Macaskill

Yep! I met Danny Macaskill. More about this later.

When times are tough, and work could be getting you down, look for the joy elsewhere. And I think I’m working on a theme here. When things go a little wrong, and even if mistakes were your fault, don’t take it personally on yourself. Just don’t. Keep working on. You’re not the only one finding things tough.

If you don’t know why Danny Macaskill is, look him up. And if he’s not riding a bike, you have the wrong guy. People who know, know.

I was in Glasgow at the time, and he was on his stunt bike, wearing a Red Bull helmet with fitted camera, but I had to go and say hello just to make sure. And it definitely was him. I didn’t say much, and realized that when you see someone famous they have absolutely no idea who you are. On the other side, you don’t know the famous person. But when you see them, you think you do, until it’s clear that you don’t.

What happened was a brief “are you………..” followed by a “maybe” from him. There were some other words from me, followed by a “nice to meet you” from him with a handshake. Then I tried to explain what happened to three work colleagues who had no idea. I was grinning from ear to ear.

Too be continued…….
