Reflection

I’ve definitely spent too much this month and it’s only the 12th. Payday is 28th, so it looks as if I’ll be on the baked beans for the rest of the month. I’ll be eating good baked beans, and good bread, though. There are economies and false economies. Since I’ve been working, I could have been saving and cutting corners, and I may have been living in a house I owned with a job that is better than the one I have, but you never get to find these things out. One thing is for sure I’ve lived on very little and become very ill. And that is why I make sure I eat well.

The shock of realising that I had less money than I though didn’t stop me visiting a record shop. Once again, Google helped me choose one. I could have worked out how to get there by train, tram, or bus, but I walked. Then I ended up spending 49 Euros on two records and and a double espresso. I asked for recommendations and don’t really know what I have until I get home. One is from Munich and the other double album is from Munich record label. Now it’s time to start the adventure and see where the music leads.

The guy in the shop was from Israel and first visited Germany fourteen years ago. He was so chilled out. It was understandable, the area was quiet and calming. His description of Munich was that of nothing amazing, but a nice village. I wish I’d stayed in that area a little longer. Instead, I took a very old looking 1970s tube train back to the Central station. I wish I hadn’t done that just yet, but it was important to find my bearings to get back to the airport in a few hours.

I’m in a nice enough park looking at a fountain with a man and a horse, but every now and then there’s a cloud of thick cigarette smoke from what ever it is they smoke here. There’s the sickly sweet smell of a joint and I don’t like it. This gives me the feeling that a part of a city can go down hill quickly. It’s time to move on and think about lunch.
