Shake IT Off

I’m sure this wasn’t intended to be a diary when I set out. And this is a reminder for it not to be, unless I’m talking about press-ups and meditation. I need to point out that my meditation is sitting in a dark room for 30 minutes, thinking as little as possible. This is actively doing nothing and release the tension in my neck. Now I feel that being pain free could be an option in the future. I’ll have to see how that goes. Why does it take so long to find these things out? And why does it take so long to create a stress free environment where you can have some quiet space?

Being more relaxed has helped me deal with some poor feedback I’ve had from work. I didn’t get to read it, and I’m not going to comment on it. Being all precious and defensive won’t help. All I’ll say is that it’s been a difficult last twelve months, and not even my worst year. I’m going to shake IT off and improve. But I can’t improve if I don’t continue improving my habits. So step by step, I’m cutting out distractions and trying to focus (I’ll have written about these before, many times!).

The problem with trying to write is that you have to stop putting ideas on a page that have been drawn from books. Which is exactly what I was expected to do in my education. Research a topic, compare, contrast, and provide a conclusion. This always bothered me. Where did real thinking come in to this? I’m definitely avoiding a subject I need to talk about. In time, I’ll work it out.

In the meantime, not listening to the radio is my new thing. It’s all bad! I know the world is bad. There’s no point in listening. All I need to know is when the tanks are rolling up my street. That’s if the potholes aren’t too bad. In other news – the Tory party may have realised that Jacob Rees Mogg is an arse. Less than a week ago he motioned a vote of no confidence in the PM. All he needed were 48 letters to be sent to the chairman of the 1922 committee, which is 15% of the Conservative MPs. He hasn’t managed to do that, but I suspect that he is still a threat. The Brexit fiasco continues.

I’m sure I’ll revisit this post some time and try and work out what it was all about.
