Non-Alcoholic Beer

Once upon a time, alcohol free beer was awful. Drinkable, but not great. But these days some brewers are really taking it seriously. My latest discoveries from Tesco are a milk stout from the Big Drop Brewing Company (I like a good stout), and Adnam’s version on 0.5% Ghost Ship. Both of these are great and I’ll be back for more.

Tomorrow is a big day, not that anyone would notice. It means I could spend Friday in the pub. Then Monday, then enjoy Christmas with booze, recover a bit on Boxing Day and drive home. After that I could drink all the way to New Years Eve, and think about surviving January, but I won’t. I need a clear head and no week long recovery, there’s too much to do and adventures to enjoy.

This isn’t about low alcohol beer. Like many posts, the title is not what the blog is about. I this case, it’s a reminder to never go back. On Saturday, it will be five months and December has been a good one, all things considered. I can take on the world, or at least give myself the chance to give it a good shot. Decisions need to be made, and I need a clear head and no headaches.

My plan is to give myself several chances of success. These are:

  1. Getting my flat in order
  2. Getting my finances in order
  3. Getting race fit
  4. Travel
  5. Find a sporting challenge overseas
  6. Find a new job
  7. Finally play a tune on my guitar
  8. Learn a foreign language

Of course, the the job and finances are the important ones. A worthwhile well paid job would be best, but the small things can make the big things happen. Flat and finances are the ones to look at while I have the time.

Anyway, the important lose ends are tied up and a new world awaits. I’m looking forward to it.
