Crow

Sometimes it’s the things that you we’re expecting to be writting about are the things you write about. This thing is about a little crow. I found it at the side of the road walking down Point Farm Campsite to the Griffin. If not fully grown, he/she was close to being grown up. The poor thing wasn’t moving and had gummed up eyes. This was a test for not stopping to help the wood pigeon when I left for Pembroke. So, I called the RSPCA line, but the automated advice was to call a vet, but it was 2030 and a quick Google showed that the vets were close. Something had to be done, so I wnt back up the road to collect a towel and a water bottle from my bike. There was a squawk when I wrapped it up in the towel and moved it to the other side of the road. The best I could do was to squirt a little water on it’s head and clear it’s eyes. It helped a little. I could see milky eyes instead of gummed up eyes, followed by a play dead routine and a roll down in to the bushes down the hill. This was my first crow rescue attempt and I wish I could have done better. Perhaps I helped. Perhaps it was dying. At least it wasn’t going to be run over by a car.

Today was a lazy day. It feels lazy, but I was kicked in to job hunting and had a chat about a security job. My CV has been sent and we’ll see where that goes. But it has been a lazy, sunny, great day! Here’s a picture of the bay at Dales with the tide out.

And here’s a picture of me on the wat to St. Annes Head.

The bay would have had a name, but I wasn’t paying attention. It wasn’t far from a short 12% hill on the way St. Annes. As with everything in Pembroshire, there’s a lot of geology. I have no idea what this is.

Another thing about Pembrokshire is the military influence.

I didn’t mess around getting anywhere near the edge here!

St. Brides

It has occured to me that since I’ve started adding pictures, I’ve stopped writting anything. I feel bad about the wood pigeon, the starling, and the crow from today. I feel good that I now have a much better LinkedIn profile picture. The old one was very miserable and didn’t look like fun. That’s probably that I wasn’t having much fun. I am now!

Things that still bug me include, people talking about other people’s money, and people talking about their work in pubs when I’m on holiday. I’m not sure I’ll evert get over these things. Oh, and loud two-stoke chopper motorbikes when I’m having a nice quite meal and a drink in a great restaurant\pub where the food is fantastic. I’m so lucky to be here before summer holiday season. And I think I might finally learned how to holiday. The trick is finding the right place.

I did have a minor panic about the reality of job hunting and facing up to real life. All of that can’t stop me living and getting on with things. That’s why I’m taking pictures and even using the selfie flip screen on my new camera. With a bit of luck when I read these lines later on, I won’t sound so feaked out.

Tomorrow, I’m drving 130 miles north to Snowdonia to re-visit Llanbedr and the Dinas camping sites. There will be hills, some very steep hills. The whole trip will be worth it to visit the end of the valley. I’ve been there before and didn’t use Strava enough. More impotantly, I didn’t have a camera and I want some great pictures.

So that’s it for today. I’ve had some sun, some job hunting, a ride, dipped my feet in the sea, had some great food and drink in the Griffin, and am enjoying a final take-away pint in the tent waiting for the stars to appear.
