I’m sitting the Bertamin Arms at St Pancras Internation having a pint of Proper Job. But the first thing in my mind isn’t my trip, it’s the ‘R’ word. It turns out that along with the ‘N’ word, which we do not use for very good reasons, we don’t use say racism (the ‘R’ word) which explains why we just say ‘N’.

I know that when I started, I would not become a diarist or write about the news, but times change and I’m changing with them. Today, Jeremy Hunt refused to call out Donald Trump for racism. He said he would not use the ‘R’ word to describe what he has been saying. My Hunt is currently the soon to be runner up in the Tory leadership election and the holder of the third highest office in UK government. As the Foreign Secretary he described himself as the UK’s highest diplomat. He is a lanky streak of weak piss in my opinion. If you see something, call it out. Otherwise, the bad person thinks he’s been absolved.

It’s 1409 I need to take some pictures. My check in time is 1431.

I made it to the hotel after a 4.4km walk with my bags and the wonders of Google maps. Paris is a very different place to where I’ve been before and it will be fun to explore. The Hampton by Hilton is massive and I’ve just relaxed for the rest of the evening. Tomorrow, I’ll head for the Metro and tick off some of the sites. I’ll not think about my moving day on Monday for a couple of days.

Here’s a snap of the roof at St. Pancras. It’s not the best picture in the world, but it was a hell of a job to get it up there and in place.

This is a great work of art, but I was worried about the size of the woman’s hand on the man’s shoulder. It’s way too big.

And a comment on modern life. This would have been completed before Instagram took off. I could say so much about it, but the picture tells it’s own story.

Eurostar is busy going through security, but the trip was fantastic. I’ll definitely do it again. The food is loads better than on a flight.

Tomorrow will be a good day. I’m off the leash now and letting myself enjoy the trip. Then I’ll be posting pictures here.
