Multipass!

I didn’t sleep to well last night, but it didn’t rank in my top twenty bad sleeps. If I wasn’t so lazy, I might have noticed that the valve on the matress had unscrewed itself, but it took me until 0500 to get round to sorting the problem. The culprit must have been my new blow-up pillow. Once started, I fell in to a wiered dream sleep. I wish I hadn’t bothered fixing the problem. Anyway, everything worked out fine. Breakfast at 0930 was coffee. That’s all I could manage after a large salade, with sausage frites, and two large Heinikens the night before. For a moment, I didn’t feel too great, but I needed to move on.Thanks to my Moovit mobile app, I can find my way around with any problems. The 89 bus took me to the bus station, and I jumped on the Metro for four stops to Bellacour. After a brief stop in the air conditioned information centre I started walking. First across a bridge, then up a steep flight of stairs giving me a great view of Lyon, and then down into the old town for a scoop of coconut, and a scoop of frambroise.

The hand rail was too hot to touch!

What else did see? I saw a bee! At least I think there’s one in here. I’m just posting this because the colours came out really well. This was at the base of a designed waterfall. I’ll probably have a piture of it, but you can’t add everything.

There was a soundtrack of a very good violin player, so I stayed there for a while, as I thought my 1 euro justified having an extended listen. Not sure where I was going, I stumbled upon the museum of art, and had free entry for a couple of hours. Look it up, it was great, and cool more importantly!

A view of the sculpture hall

I had a Coke in the cafe and a short chat with a lady who came from Newcastle, and was showing two Itallian boys around. We both agreed that we’re not used to this heat. But I am managing my way through it.Then on to an American diner place that was showing the end of stage 17 of this years tour. A break away rider from the breakaway won by 18 minutes over the yellow jersey pack. No chnage in the GC from what I could see. A small glass of beer I couldn’t recognise kept me company.Next stop, the bar next door for an espresso and some typing time.I managed to order my first meal! Predictably, it was moules. The staff in Leon de B understood enough to serve me, but didn’t look to happy. The meal was good and that was job done. And so, back to base.I ignored Moovit and headed back to Gare de Vaise to catch the 89 again. To cut a long story short, I needed to walk 1.2km to catch the number 3. Next time, I’ll pick up a paper timetable to see where the later buses leave from. Technology saved the day again. This place even has live music. There was a French man in a hat with a guitar, a great tech base drum with a backing track, and chat like TomWaits. Then as he was packing his kit, Tom Waits was playing.Time for bed. To many bugs like my citron candle and my laptop screen!
