Hello!
I’ve enjoyed the view from my office\small bedroom window of the last few months and now I’m not happy.
I think I’ll start with some pictures to show what happened to the trees around the back of my flat. This is my little garden.

I’ve just seen a man with a hedge cutter with an extended handle crudely cut branches from the trees out the back. I don’t have a problem with trimming trees and bushes back, but there was no plan to this. And from what I can see, there was no reason to do it. My view was of a housing estate finally bedding in and maturing. What I have now is a damaged tree with sharp pointed snapped off branches.
Here’s my interaction with the housing association:

I should let this go, but the lack of sensitivity for the natural world in mind-numbing right now. The world has lost 19% of the Amazon Rain Forest, Greenland has lost 250 million tons of ice this year, and all of the other extreme events that are becoming common place.
This one thing isn’t that bad at all. But what it was was my little part of the world that has been attacked. And in doing that, they’ve attacked me. And what’s worse is that I didn’t stop them. Most of the damage was already done, and leaving it half done would have made things worse, but this didn’t need to happen.
I’ve registered my complaint. That’s all I can really do. The problem is that little things like this affect my mood and make me question my judgement. These are two things that I really don’t need right now. These are things that the world doesn’t need right now. We need natural diversity, we need trees, we need the outside world to boost our mood, and all we seem to do is attack it.
I called this pointless vandalism and it was. Other people may see it differently and good luck to them.
The response:

I decided to leave it there. There’s no reason to prune trees. And that wasn’t pruning.
