Rain

I was trying to deliver some Green Party leaflets this evening. They’ve been in my bag since Thursday and it’s the following Tuesday now. The problem is that I know I always get lost, the weather forecast has been awful and I have trouble leaving the house. And so I forced myself out at 1850 and got lost. Then it started to rain and that added to the problem of not being able to see and house numbers now that it’s dark at this time of day. So to cut a long story short, I’m having a beer in town.

Typing with my thumbs is much quicker than I thought it would be. The new phone is doing everything I need it to. That’s my Samsung A50, if anyone from Samsung gets around to reading this. Freebies would be very welcome!

If there was a day when it was okay to have a beer again, today’s the day. The UK Supreme Court ruled unanimously that the prorogation of a Parliament was illegal. They absolutely slammed Prime Minister Johnson. Parliament will sit again tomorrow and he’s rightly going to get an absolute mauling tomorrow. Questions will be asked, he can’t get a majority to call for an early election and Corbyn won’t call for a vote of no confidence. The PM could call for a vote of no confidence in himself, but I doubt he’d win that. Politically, it’s his turn in the barrel.

One great thing to come out of today is that the judiciary flew in formation. If there was a split between the judges, they all decided to back the majority decision. It was an absolute smack down and none of the judgement was about Brexit. Parliament now has the power to work out what they need to do.

To summarise. The Supreme Court didn’t rain on Boris Johnson’s parade – they pissed all over it. Now it’s time to see how far the mask slips and see just what kind of a man the PM is. Any decent, principled politician would have resigned within 24 hours. My bet is that he’ll push on with his dream job. Tomorrow will be interesting in the extreme.

One last thought. Rain is forecast for the next few days and I have an idea to keep everything dry. Plastic wallets should do the job.
