A Christmas miracle
I haven’t been up North to see the parents for about a year. It’s been so long that loads of the road layouts have changed. My concentration must have been high, because I could have easily seen myself missing a red light or hitting a barrier. Luckily. everything is fine. Other people crashed and held up traffic, but not me.
It’s probably best that I get straight to the miracle. I knocked a glass of wine over, then there was a bad feedback sound. The Rotel MkII amplifier that I gave to my Dad years ago and he used as the TV sound system. Bugger! Wine must be magic, because I reached places I didn’t think it could have reached. This calls for a quick mop up, and more mopping up, and a little bit more. Now let’s try again – feedback noise, but no sparks. Wait and try again – flip, I think I’ve broken it.
The think is that I know it’s just a thing. But the thing is, it’s essentially my thing on load. The Rotel is a great amplifier and I kind of miss it. So let’s give it one more go. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! That’s it. This is a repair job for Christmas week.Best just come straight out with it when Dad comes back. Oh, it bloody works now does it? I suppose I don’t need to think about it any more. I should have had more faith in the old thing. Or was it a miracle?
Perhaps this is the real meaning of Christmas – death, faith and a resurection. Hang on a minute. That’s Easter isn’t it. How come this miracle happened now and not in a few of months depending on when the first Sunday after full moon after after the spring equinox happens? This may be a message or a good omen. To be honest, Ill take them when I can find them. This is more down to the design and build quality around 20 years ago in a factory making affordable, good quality Hi-Fi equipment that lasts.
Merry Christmas and boozy Boxing day from me. And I wonder what Easter has in store. I’m thinking it will inspire me to hit my word target without filling things out at the end about how I’m having to write filler and still not quite get there without having to do a final check.
Merry Christmas!
