Meatloaf

Just another subject I wasn’t expecting to be writing about

It’s not easy ignoring the most pressing issue of my lifetime. Global heating/man-made climate change is happening and it is already a disaster for most of life on planet Earth. I think we can all agree this. After all, the science is clear and the effects are being seen. That’s settled then. Now let’s do something about it. But hold on one second. It turns out that this is just a hoax.

Why do I know that the climate crisis is a hoax? Meatloaf! Yep, the ageing rocker (72) described Greta Thunberg as being brain washed and manipulated. Whether or not he means this, is looking for publicity, or just wants to feel relevant, is something only he knows. But what you can say is that he is just another idiot in the way, who is the voice for other idiots.

My issue is not what he has said. The problem is with the reporting. When the news papers reported that he said climate change was a hoax, the should have added the comment – “but it is” – to the article. There’s nothing controversial in doing this, but it never seems to happen. And by doing so, another drip feed of disinformation is out in the wild. On it’s own, it would be innocuous, but the problem is that it isn’t.

Another problem is people who pretent to care about GT. Some say that she is missing out on school this year. This is clear nonsense. She’s done more in a year than most people manage in a lifetime. She has an interest in the future, whereas a 72 year old rocker does not. Perhaps, young girls should be seen and not heard. But I’m pretty sure that a 16 year old boy would have been ridiculed too. But she would be the first to say that the doubters should listen to the experts. That’s all she wants, so that she can carry on with life.

Mr Loaf must also be a psychologist. For a start, he knows about brain washing. So 1. he’s a climate expert; and 2. he’s also an expert in psychology. The slight problem is that climate change is real and brain washing doesn’t exist. And what he was hoping to achieve from his stunning ignorance on both subjects is anyones guess. He’s in good company as a climate change denier along with the late David Belamy. Whether or not Belamy would have gone after GT as others have is mere speculation on my part, but I’d like to think he would have changed his opinion given mounting evidence.

Knowledge is not power and probably never was. Influence is power, and social media clicks are monetized.
