A Final Word On The Subject

Okay. Not my final words, but my final words on social media.

Sometimes, I feel I have to write something and share it. I have been struggling to blog, so this is a copy and paste from my Facebook feed:

This is my final word on the subject and I’m sure the we all argree that we have learnt the following and that can only be a good thing:

1. The UK had 73 out of 751 MPs
2. We know the other 26 counties in the EU off by heart
3. Everyone knows and can explain the four EU freedoms
4. We know what the Single Market is
5. We know what the Customs Union is
6. We know what the four British Crown Dependencies are and why that is important
7. We can name and point out on a map all of the UK Overseas territories and why that is important
8. But no one knows the difference between Bulgaria and Hungary (No offence Janos. Thanks for reading this far!)
9. The bastards in Brussels dictate the size of the creme brulee blowtorch that I don’t have.
10. Only 20% of imigration in to the UK was from the EU.

Expect more bird photos from now on!

In 2016, I had no idea how many MEPs there were. And in 2020 I didn’t know who many MEPs the UK had – until yesterday – and I like to think that I’m a little more informed than some.

Brexitmess

I invented a new word on Jan 31st 2020, but it didn’t catch on. The day was the day that we left the EU. We’ve left and someone has to come up with a plan very soon. At the moment, we are living day to day and the fact checkers can’t keep up. Anyway, here’s my post about the Brexit celebrations in London:

Nothing will stick it to the Westminster, metropolitan liberal elite bubble, like having a big party on Parliament Square on Friday night.

My conclusion about the whole Brexit bebacle is that something happened. It’s not over yet, but it is, but it clearly isn’t. I’m happy to go back to my idea that everything on TV is entertainment – no matter how awful it is. If it’s on the telly there’s absolutely nothing I can do, so I might as well concentrate on the things I can do. Being informed is almost as good as pointless, but I’ll keep an eye on things.
