Blogs and Facebook Posts

This looks like an easy way to hit my 400 words target, but it’s not.

Recently, I lost my urge or energy to keep up the simple task of writing a few words of nonsense every day. It seemed a bit pointless. I could call it writer’s block, but I’m not a writer. My problem was a life block and I think things will be moving again soon. So, today I’ve decided to work back through my Facebook posts and see what was going on when I promised myself that this is what I wasn’t going to do.

I’m starting to think that Kate Middleton talking about hypnobirthing is the Government’s way of preparing soon to be mothers of possible drug shortages – from the family that gives you homeopathy.

This is a strange one to start with. The Dutchess of Cambridge has given birth to three children and won’t be having any more – unless she does. For a start, why would she have been advised to come out with this kind of thing? For a start, she spent loads of time in hospital with severe morning sickness with the best care money can buy.

“There’s no such thing as a floodplain. It’s part of the river.

This country floods these days. There’s climate change causing more storms in this country and this is exacerbated by mismanagement of the countryside and a goverment that doesn’t seem to care. I took the quote from Twitter and it made me think. It should make you think too.

I know everything there is to know about the Dunning-Kruger effect.

I thought this was a good post. And that’s probably the point. I could have kept it to myself and written it down here. But perhaps I was looking for approval. Or, maybe I was just being a bit lazy and didn’t want to put the leg work in and publish a blog no-one was going to read.

This is a time in history when we need experts more than ever. But at the same time, we have people who don’t know much and pretend to be the experts.

I know I know nothing. Or do I know?

It’s understandable that this country has problems dealing with heavy snow every now and then. But not being able to deal with rain when this is the type of weather we are famous for around the world……………………………..

This is a good point. We’ve had floods before, but not like this. We’ve had rain before, like this. We’re doing something wrong and for some reason we’ve decided no to walk down the path that mitigate the effects.

I miss the old days – Remember when Oscar Pistorius shooting his girlfriend dead was big news seven years ago today?

This was big news back in the day.

13 Feb 2020

I’d be gutted if I paid £15,000 for a PM and his girlfriend to go on holiday and then they got my name wrong in the register of members interests.

This should be big news now, but then more big news happened, followed by more big news, and we still don’t know who paid for an expensive holiday in the sun, and who’s villa the Prime Minister and his girlfriend stayed at. Wherever it was, you could add another zero on to the 15k.

These are the days we live in, where scandals aren’t scandalous anymore – depending on who it is!

Happy Darwin Day! If you believe in that kind of thing.

Lets face it. I was trying to get some likes and replies.

As the UK government suggests it might move the ban on selling new petrol, diesel, and hybrid cars even further forward to 2032, it’s still a mystery why the Tesla share price went up 114% yesterday.

This was news, but it isn’t going to happen. What this was was a pointless target without a plan. And it might sound like a conspiracy theory, but I expect some people close to the government have Tesla shares.

High speed rail – So your trains can turn up late, sooner.

This is one of my finest posts. HS2 is going ahead, the goverment have approved it after a review , or as I call it a go-go review. Stage 1 will take ten years, and it will be cheaper than the published 80-100 billion (which was costed at £25,000,000,000 ten years ago. And a couple of days later we can get the Chinese to do it in five years for a fraction of the cost!

2500 miles of cycle lanes would be fantastic. Just imagine how that could change things.

What? 250 miles! That’s just a couple pots of paint on some routes that already exist.

As a sweetner to make HS2 more palitable, £5bn will be made available for 4,000 British built zero emission busses, which we don’t already make, and a whole 250 miles of cycle lanes. FFS!

The busses are a promise to keep the north happy. It won’t happen.

Is it admirable he’s deferred being an admiral?

Andrew Windsor has decided to defer his promotion to admiral. It’s traditional for a royal of his rank to get this on his 60th. Bells will ring in Westminster and Union Flags will fly from town halls around Britain on Feburary 19. Utter nonsense! Hopefully this will not happen.

Outrage as MP Tracy Brabin seen wearing an off the shoulder dress in the House of Commons.

At the same time, excitement amongst some MPs about rumours of some uncovered table legs in one of the subsidized bars.

The £35 dress was autioned for charity and raised £20k! We get outraged at all the wrong things.

Why don’t you switch off your smart phone and go and do something less boring instead.

Why don’t you……………………………

This was for the older people who remember ’70 kids TV.

I happy I’ve done this. It could be longer and better, but that’s not the point.
