BBC Radio 3

I’ve been listening to it a lot over the past few days.

Radio 3 have adapted to the times and decided that they aren’t going to broadcast any news. There’s a news bulletin around 0830 and that’s it! I can’t tell you how great this is, but I’ll try anyway. I no longer want to be informed. “Informed” is pointless. At first it feels great and then when there’s nothing you can do with your informedness, you just look for other things to do. At the moment, things are going to roll on along their course. Everything is pre-determined and what’s going to happen is going to happen. All we can do is decide what we do when all this is happening. Although it could – and has – been argued that everything individual do is pre-determined like this and this and this and you get the idea.

He’s some pictures of rats I took today. But you would have been expecting this. I’m so predictable. I was hoping for a dunnock, or maybe if I was lucky, a nuthatch. I got these fellas instead. So in short, I don’t have a bird photo. But these shots and I’m starting to like rats. I wanted to buy a couple from the pet shop, but I wouldn’t have been able to give them a good home. The best place for animals is in the wild. We shouldn’t need to have to feed the birds, but we have to and I will keep doing it.

After staying in for a few days, the park was part of my short bike ride out. The air is colder than I’d expect at this time of year and there’s much less traffic. On top of that, it was very quiet. It felt important to get out and see what was going on. I felt the need to shoot off what was remaining of my b\w film in the Trip 35. The film is in the post now and fingers crossed, the lab is still open. Otherwise, I’ll have to wait a few days\weeks\months or whatever. But the main thing is for me to have some kind of record of this strange time.

These days are not normal and Radio 3 is working under lockdown conditions, which means that broadcasters are working from home, and they have fallen back to a recovery plan during difficult times. They had a plan and I like it. When all of this is over, I’m sure they’ll start broadcasting more challenging listening, but for now Radio 3, thank you for being here.

I’ll bring duck food with me tomorrow. The ducks seemed hungry.
