The Curve

Did the curve flatten?

Did it fuck! The curve wasn’t flat. Cases and deaths are going up. Look at it:

I don’t want to be negative, but it looks as if the United Kingdom has big problems. And I don’t know what my risk to this virus actually is. What I do know is that it has stopped me going away for a long weekend break. I thas stopped me sitting in a cafe or brewery tap room and type nonsense on a keyboard. My feeling is that I needed a change of scene as an excuse to type away. Doing this doesn’t add any value and it’s not paying my bills so I’ve let this slip. On the other hand my website has improved and I’ve had some photos back from the developer. I would have taken more photos, but because of the lockdown I’ve been going out on the same routes and not being adventurous – not that I ever was. So, the upshot was that I haven’t been out and about very much, eventhough the weather has been great – until last week. The first wet miserable day, was miserable, but I’m getting used to it.

Here’s some pictures from the Kodak 66. There was a time when I though the developer had lost the film, but they are great and I’m happy they are still working:

I haven’t included my mistakes, but I have learned from them. There’s something about depth of field and maybe some sun flash or whatever that is spoiling some photos, but when they are good I’m quite impressed.

What I need is a holiday. The urge to drive somewhere is building. At the same time, I’m getting the fresh air and birdsong I’d normally have to drive a few hundred miles to enjoy. The whole country needs a holiday and luckily we have a bank holiday on May 8th celebrating VE day. Yep – it’s more war stuff and the bank holiday has moved from a Monday to a Friday. Morale is everything. But I want to get away. And if I do other people will be going crazy.

My car needs a service and MOT. It was due to be tested two days before the six month extension kicked in. So to drive anywhere would cause a couple of problems. Luckily, I don’t need to drive anywhere. A short ride to town today showed me many places I can shop for supplies. I might even buy some bread. Toast would be fantastic. I like toast. I’ve always liked toast! Trying to pretend I could manage without bread is crazy. All I can think about now is crispy toasted bread, dripping in butter…………
