Nature will win in the end.
My memory may be failing me, but I don’t think I’ve seen bats flying around my place before. I suppose it could be possible that I have, but not as great as last night. Looking out to where my bird feeders are, I saw three of them buzzing around and one flew close past my window a couple of times. And that’s all I have to say about bats. This is a sign that nature is recovering and they’re not for everyone. I can’t stop here. There will be people who are freaked out by these flying mice. They might be worried about them getting tangled in their hair or have ideas that they will suck their blood. And I’m assuming that these are the people who don’t care about nature.
Cricket is in the news at the moment. Questions are being asked about whether or not our national sport should return during the pandemic. All of this leaves me confused for the reason that Test cricket is making a return in a couple of days with a three Test series against the West Indies. The conditions will be similar to football and cricket, so I don’t see why the Prime Minister was being asked these questions and couldn’t answer. Even county cricket has a timetable to return soon. Given that only the top two divisions in English football are playing this was an easy reply, but he couldn’t handle this at all. But these are the times we live in. He couldn’t even play a straight bat to a simple question.
The more I think about it, the more I’m more confused about the cricket question. He was schooled at Eton. This is his kind of thing and he must have been slightly aware of this kind of thing. I doubt very much that he knows much about soccer and that came back. Both football (soccer) and cricket are out national sports, so all I can think is that he’s not a details man and there isn’t much good will to gain from the Prolls who want beer, football, and gambling back. All I can think is that there’s little point in courting people who will vote for him anyway.
***BREAKING NEWS***
Boris Johnson announces that club cricket can resume next week. But Sunday league football and table tennis cannot. This is the very definition of populism when a leader makes decisions just to be popular.
