Things are going really well in the United Kindom. Really, bloody well.

I find myself lost for words many times, over and over. This is a condition that is useless when blogs are concerned. But, if anything it means that when I write, it’s going to be great! I’d like to think everything was going to be great, but it’s not. Leaving the EU with no deal whatsoever looks very likley. It was always thus. A complete break is the only outcome that would satisfy the hardline Brexiters and I think I know why.

The world seems clear to me. I can’t imagine what it’s like in the head of the people who think that this is what they want. Part of my head can and I really don’t want to go there. The best I can do is accept there are other people in the world (Little Britain) and not get in to debates with them. Debates are over. I’m going to buckle up and watch it on Twitter. You’re powerless and so am I. So let’s enjoy the last 21 days we have in the EU before everything turns to shit.

My prediction is that the Government will deploy all of the fiscal parachutes, air bags, and distractions it can. One tactic will be to interview people on 1st Jan 2021 saying that they feel free and nothing bad has happened. In short, there will be a charm offensive. And it will be offensive. We might even have a short war, with moral support from Vladimr Putin. Expect flag waving and veterans.

You might have worked out that I’m not entirely thrilled by the way things have gone. The free market people (not the EU single market), but the true free market people will have ideas of trading with African countries who have suffered from the potectionist, nasty EU. GB can save the world with free trade! But I don’t think the world likes us very much. Being in the EU was a good thing for us and we were protected, right up until the point where it’s open season and we are shot to bits and wrapped in red tape.

For some, this is a game. Others have picked their leaders and their side. And I’d suggest well over 50% are terrified, if they haven’t been pacified. We’ve been locked down too long.

I didn’t want to write this, but I needed to type and clear my head.
