Oh4phucsache – reprised

Before I begin: Hello USA, Japan, and 94 views from the UK today. My viewing stats are going crazy!

***Warning*** This blog may contain swearing. I’m a little annoyed about today’s Government announcement. In short, Christmas is cancelled. Or to clarify, rules have been put in place to restrict travel and mixing households over Christmas. This policy has been put in place to reverse the announcement where Covid restrictions has been relaxed, so that households could meet up for Christmas. And now, those resrictions have been increased, in what could be described as being utterly predictable. And all of this raises the question of why this wasn’t planned better in advance, instead of a late announcement with no planning.

I will be fine this year. I’ll adapt and find things to do. There’s more time than I really would like, because job hunting during a pandemic, recession, and either a no deal Brexit or a very bad deal Brexit next week, isn’t very easy. So, what I probably mean is that I’m fine for now. None of this this makes me all that happy when I hear about people who are in a much worse position than myself. The people who vote the people in to government who haven’t got a clue about how tough life can be for people, haven’t got a clue. That’s until they find out how bad life can get. And at this point they don’t count anymore. The trick is to deny and ignore it so it doesn’t spoil their day. If life doesn’t work out, it’s your fault for not working hard enough.

Boris Johnson – The current future ex-Prime Minister

I hate breaking my established early blog rules about writing about this kind of stuff. It’s just all too encompassing. Not travelling around for Christmas is probably a the best thing, but we just know that all sorts of people will break the rules. I say rules, because I have no idea if travelling out of a Tier 4 area is breaking the law, because the law hasn’t been written, and Parliament is on holiday. This mean that the horse’s arse made flesh (Alexander Boris de Peffel Johnson) was granted emergency powers nine months ago. But we are where we are!

Times are tough and they’re only getting tougher. Be kind to yourselves, keep in touch with your family, and know that this will pass. Then we can concentrate on holding the Government to account. They have a lot to attain for. If you want to know what Boris was doing in Perugia airport, you can look up the details. He’s not the man we need in charge.
