Oh the thinks that you can see, looking out of windows!
I started this in Jan 22nd 2021 with a title and a tagline to get things going. It’s Feburary 3rd now and I have no excuse for the gap, except for everything in the world being pointless and we are being ruled by morons. Doing this is pointless, but at least it’s something to do and this is my day to catch up on the blogs and see if I can knock out a few thousand words on to a page. Getting thoughts out of my head and on to a page may or may not help, we’ll have to see.
Over the years, I’ve spent too much time looking out of windows, but when you think about it, windows are for looking out of. Okay, I get that some windows aren’t for looking out of, but forget that. Outside feels much better than inside. There are times when being inside is very useful, but having the freedom to leave and enter when you feel like it is very important. Being stuck in an office is something many of us have to do and offices have windows which I used to look out of. And what was the view? Cars in a carpark, mostly. There were big expensive shiny cars. Some cars were older and less looked after than my car, but that didn’t make me feel any better.
What I needed was a new view of the world. And I find myself in lockdown, with no money and no job, looking out of my window. I’m lucky enough to look down on some grass and some small trees. These days birds fly around and feed from my window. For years, there weren’t any birds and now there are loads of them. All of this helps, but I have been looking out of the window too much. In no way am I spiritual, but I like to think that nature sends me a new bird when I need one. Now is the time to pay attention and do something before it’s too late.

Here’s the bird that almost got me started again last month. Sometimes, birds stop by to see what’s going on and I’m lucky enough to spot them. This redwing will probably fly back to Iceland for the summer beeding season. I spotted a small flock of them in the park, which makes me feel happy that he\she isn’t lost and has some company.
This is the first of many entries to day. I have a lot to get off my chest!
