Air quality has force me to write again.

I have long breaks when things aren’t going well. That long spell of things not being great is still on-going, but I suppose that I must be feeling more positive. The alternative is that things are so bad that I need to write about them, without mentioning what the bad things are. What brings me here is to go on about something I can’t control, but something I can at least measure and make decisions about. That thing, as always is air quality.
The early lockdown which was almost this time last year is my favourite lockdown so far. What it did was give me some breathing space. The air was excellent and it gave me the chance to decompress. Looking back, maybe I shouldn’t have taken it so seriously, found some work, and spent all day out on my bike(s). We are coming to the end of lockdown 3 now and my chances to enjoy fresh air are a thing of the past. Over the last two days, my pollution monitor has been reporting bad news. This is a shame, because we’ve had blue skies and the heat from the sun isn’t reaching the ground. And as usual, it’s probably only me who notices. I hope tomorrow will be better, but even the usually over optimistic DEFRA website suggests that the air will be worse than it was today. Wot evs! I’ll work around this. But I am looking forward for a full day out on the bike with my cameras soon so I can be ready for my next Long Good Friday ride.
What’s happened here is that I think I’ve made a plan to do something next month. It might not look too much to you, but this progress. Things I can plan for and don’t cost much to do are good things. Even thinking about driving away to go camping is out of reach right now, but camping is off the menu until 12th April at the earliest the way things are going. The good thing is that I can always find somewhere to sit and watch the birds. There’s always a new bird that pops up and helps me along, but I must be pushing it now with the variety I’ve seen around my feeders.
There’s a world out there, and I’m going to spend time there – without spending!
