I’m happy that there’s nothing wrong with me and annoyed that something so mundane as earwax has thrown me off for the last couple of days. But to be honest, it’s more than a bit of earwax. I’ve bundled it up with everything that’s been going on for the last couple of years. And now I feel a little bit silly.
Little things can knock you sideways when you’re not expecting them to. For example, England losing in the EURO 2020 (2021) final knocked me off kilter more than I was willing to accept.
I suppose I need to see how far I’ve come and press the reset button. Location, location, location. There’s a cycle of working out where you are, what to do, acting, and then working out where you are. It goes on for ever. The point is, don’t get too used to where you are and prepare to act. That’s what I need to do now.
So how did earwax get me talking about the OODA loop? The cycle is observe–orient–decide–act?
This was a blog rule break on my part. I promised not to look things up on the web. But perhaps I’ve changed and actually want to learn stuff. And the reason I know about this is because the genius? Dominic Cummings was a big fan of it. The plan being that if their OODA loop was cycling faster than their political opposition, they were always in control. But in reality, they were creating more chaos.
I don’t care how I got here. Now that I’m aware of my OODA loop, I can keep moving.
My earwax still needs to get sorted though. I suppose it’s just an old man problem. It’s good that it’s nothing bad and it’s good that I know I can treat it. My big worry was doing more harm than good. So from now on, I’ll be pouring olive oil and bicarb drops in my ears like there’s no tomorrow. All of which gives me ideas for a future blog. In short, things are not looking good at all. And the people in power decided that they didn’t like the people who were pointing this out. But in fairness, it’s not just our leaders who are as dumb as fuck.
See you in the next blog! It might even be a funny one, but I can’t promise.
