Our Prime Minister is in hiding.

I’m at work, on my own, and need to vent while I come up with ideas. All of this makes me think that a distraction is the best thing to do. Finding new things to do is difficult when you think you’ve done all the things you need to do. There’s lots of choice, but it might not be the right thing to do. Sometimes, having things happen is a big help. Then you can react to it. You could say I’m in the Doldrums. There’s no wind to move me along, so I’ll just bob along and wait. Perhaps that’s how our Dear Leader feels.

There’s no two ways about it. Our country is in trouble and our Prime Minister should no longer be in the job. He knows it and has gone in to hiding because a “close family member” has tested positive for Covid, even though, under his own rules he doesn’t need to self-isolate. He can’t even appear on Zoom at the moment. But that’s fine according to his disciples.

Operation Red Meat looks like his reply. He’s been caught out for lying, being lazy, and breaking his own rules. Conservative voters say they’ll never vote for him again. His reply is to throw read meat at his supporters. He’s going full Trump. The military are going to repel refuges in the English Channel and then send them to poor countries all over the world so they can have their asylum applications processed. This is all because he was caught out having piss-ups in Number 10 Downing Street when the rest of the country was in lock down. The point being that not only do the rules not apply to them, no rules apply to them.

People are angry now. We’ve been fooled. And it’s so obvious now that they can’t even lie about it. They tried and were caught. It’s so bad that they are waiting for the result of an investigation. All be it an investigation by someone they appointed to investigate them, but Sue Gray will have to find something. Something that will clear her boss, the Prime Minister. And for that she will be rewarded, or thrown under the bus like so many of her colleagues will be. The problem is that they have pre-warned. There will be many of them. But natural instincts are strong and there’s a good chance that voters will fall for the red meet tactic, no matter how much damage it causes the rest of us.
