Plan Free and Loving it

Vinyl record shops are closed on Sundays in Munich. This isn’t a problem. I fly at about 1930 tomorrow, or something like that (I must check my app). The only problem after that is the choice of shops, that are all close together according to Google maps.

After a gentle start and a two course breakfast I took myself for a run in the park. When I run these days I can’t really believe how string my legs feel. Then they don’t feel so good, lose their spring, and the lack of fitness kicks in. But for the first mile I’m king of the world. I don’t want to see what I look like from the outside. I’ve seen it in the past and it’s not always good. The main thing is that I managed get 5km completed in about 26 minutes, which is not too bad for my first run in a few weeks. My legs forgave me for riding all day yesterday on a bike that seemed to be made in part from bits of black hole, it was that heavy.

My narrative of getting lost and Google Maps saving me continues. This time I bought a day travel ticket from the concierge in the hotel. The tram station was just behind the hotel, so of course I couldn’t find it, walked the wrong way by the river, and the directions sent me to where I needed to be right at the tram stop. This way I can stay out all day and not worry about finding my way back. It makes my journey in to the centre with two bags easier, and I have a new idea on a run\jog route in the morning.

I’m doing it wrong in a cafe with a double espresso. I paid for it when the man gave me a receipt. I think what I should have done was take the receipt, sit down, and then pay another man who takes the money when you leave. I probably appeared very rude, but I have somewhere to sit, have a coffee I’m sure I don’t need, and type a little. In the old days, there’s a good chance I’d have had a beer and not done this. Yep, I definitely did it wrong, oh well! I should have sat down and waited to be served. Now I’ll have to explain that when I leave! Hopefully not.

I’m lost for ideas on what to do now. But have tram ticket, will travel!
