The long hot summer of 2026 – But 1976!!!!!!!!!
In all my years, I’ve never experienced anything like this year’s summer. For most people, the heat would be what they remember. For me, it was the daylight. There was hardly a cloud in the sky, which meant that we benefitted from every possible minute of sunshine. The other thing that affected me in the drought lasting May to the end of August was the lack of thunderstorms. Everything feels broken.

A dead fish in my local pond……..
This is a new format style for me. WordPress have made a few changes and I’m trying to keep up.
You’re looking at one of many dead fish in my local pond. A pond I only started to visit again recently and I knew it would be bad. This is after the rains came. Before that, the fish were flapping around and you’d have thought that the partial refill would be a good thing.
With a bit of luck, my writing will improve again. The simple act is breaking up my day and giving me something else to think about. At the same time, I’m thinking that it’s utterly pointless. Am I this dead fish, being suffocated by my environment?
I think I banned myself from asking questions in these blogs very close to the beginning, but this analogy may be very close to the bone.
These dead fish must be in a bad state or the local pond rats aren’t hungy.

Nature will fix this. Probably…………………..
Now that summer is almost over, we’re getting ready to be warm and damp. El-Ninio is already looking like the warmest one ever. And when I mean ever, it’s since we discovered it around one hundred years ago. What does this mean for us? It means storms and floods. Not only that, it means potholes (even more) in our roads, which have become bent out of shape by the extreme heat this year. And it’s a toss of the coin for either a wet winter or a big freeze.
Now that I mention bent out of shape, that could be me not doing what I need to be doing. Life is a compromise, because most of us need to earn a living. The problem is when something cracks and drifting through life is an option no more.
I’ve known this for ages, but I can’t make changes. At the same time, I don’t want to end up like a fish in the photo. What I want is to feel good again. My way will be to keep off the beer, exercise, and look after myself.
That’s it. Can’t find where the word count is these days.
